Catalot Terms of Use
Effective November 2, 2026.
1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of Catalot's websites, apps and services, operated by CATALOT LLC, a Missouri limited liability company. By creating an account, registering for an auction, bidding or submitting a form, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you use Catalot for a business, you agree for that business.
2. What Catalot is (and is not)
Catalot is a venue and software provider. Auctions on Catalot are run by independent auction companies ("sellers"). Catalot is not the auctioneer, does not own the items, and is not a party to the sale. The seller describes the items, sets the terms of sale, buyer's premium, taxes, payment, pickup and shipping rules, and is the merchant of record for your payment. A seller's storefront and Catalot's marketplace show the same auctions and use one account and one set of bids.
3. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 (21 or older for some regulated items) and able to form a binding contract.
- Give accurate information and keep it current. Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- One person per account. We may refuse, suspend or close accounts that break these terms or a seller's terms, or that we reasonably believe are fraudulent.
4. Bidding and buying
- Each auction has the seller's terms of sale, which you accept when you register. If they conflict with these terms about a purchase, the seller's terms govern the purchase.
- Bids are binding offers. If you are the high bidder when a lot closes, you have agreed to buy it at your bid plus the buyer's premium, taxes and any shipping or other charges shown, under the seller's terms.
- Maximum bids: the system bids for you up to your maximum, only as much as needed to keep you ahead.
- Closing times may extend when bids arrive near the end (soft close). Displayed times, prices and totals (including "all-in" and shipping estimates) are provided for convenience; the seller's invoice controls.
- New-bidder limits and approval: sellers and Catalot may limit how much a new bidder can bid before a first payment, require approval to register, or cancel bids that violate the rules.
- Items are sold as described by the seller, usually "as is, where is." Inspect photos and descriptions and ask the seller questions before bidding.
- Regulated items (for example firearms or alcohol) carry extra rules set by law and by the seller, which may include age and residency checks, a licensed dealer transfer, or in-person pickup only.
5. Payment, pickup and shipping
- Payment goes directly to the seller through Stripe or another method the seller accepts. If you save a card, you authorize each seller whose sale you register for with that card to charge it for invoices you owe under its terms. Catalot never stores full card numbers.
- Pickup and shipping are arranged with the seller, by booked time window or shipping as the seller offers. Items not collected by the seller's deadline may be forfeited under its terms.
- Refunds, returns and disputes are handled by the seller under its terms; contact the seller first. Catalot may help with records but does not issue refunds for sellers.
6. Referral requests
Our free referral service sends your request to up to 3 local companies who may contact you. Catalot does not employ, endorse or guarantee those companies and is not responsible for their services, quotes or conduct. Any agreement you make is between you and the company. If you submit a request for someone else, you confirm you have their permission to share their details.
7. Your content and conduct
- You are responsible for messages, notes, files and other content you submit, and you give Catalot and the relevant seller permission to use it to provide the service.
- Do not: bid without intent to pay; shill bid or collude; interfere with auctions or the site; scrape, copy or resell listings without permission; use another person's account; post unlawful, infringing, harassing or misleading content; or try to get around security, limits or fees.
8. Sellers
Sellers also agree to Catalot's seller agreement, which covers subscriptions, platform fees, payouts, listing rules and data responsibilities. Sellers are solely responsible for their items, descriptions, terms of sale, tax collection, compliance with licensing and regulated-item laws, and fulfillment.
9. Catalot's content and marks
The Catalot name, logo, software and site design belong to Catalot. Listings and photos belong to the sellers who post them. You may use the site for personal or business buying, not to copy it or build a competing database.
10. Disclaimers
CATALOT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." To the fullest extent allowed by law, Catalot disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. Catalot does not guarantee any item, seller, description, bid outcome, price estimate, shipping estimate or uninterrupted service. Bids may fail because of connection, device or system problems; place important bids early.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Catalot is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, lost profits or lost data. Catalot's total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the fees you paid Catalot in the 12 months before the claim or $100.
12. Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify Catalot against claims arising from your use of the service, your content, your purchases or sales, or your breach of these terms or the law.
13. Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri. Disputes are resolved in the state or federal courts located in St. Charles County, Missouri.
14. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; we will post the new version with its effective date and notify account holders of material changes. You may stop using Catalot at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive (payment obligations for won lots, disclaimers, limits of liability, indemnity, disputes) survive termination.
15. Text messages
Catalot auction alerts. If you turn on text messages, in your account's notification settings or when you register as a bidder, Catalot (operated by CATALOT LLC) texts you about your own auction activity: outbid notices, lots you're watching closing soon, lots you won and their invoices, payment receipts and declined cards, and pickup times and changes. If you also follow an auction company and opted in to texts, you may get its occasional sale announcements.
- Message frequency varies with your bidding: usually a few texts per auction you take part in.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Text HELP for help, or email support@catalot.com.
- Text STOP to any of our texts to stop them at any time. You'll get one text confirming you're unsubscribed. Text START to turn them back on.
- Consent to texts is not a condition of bidding or buying.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- We don't share your mobile number or text consent with anyone for their marketing. See our Privacy Policy.
