Move or cancel a sale

Change when a published sale ends, or cancel it, and what bidders are told.

Move the sale's end

On the sale's Settings tab, choose Move the sale's end and pick when the first lot still open should close. Every lot not yet closed moves by the same amount, so the spacing between lots (and any soft-close extension) stays as it was. The dialog shows the old and new first and last closing times before you confirm.

  • Later is allowed any time while some lots are still open.
  • Earlier is allowed only while nobody has bid, and never to less than an hour from now.
  • One move can shift the sale up to 60 days.

Lots that already closed stay closed. Bidders watching the sale see the new countdowns at once, and everyone registered or watching gets one email (and a text or push if they take them) with the old and new times. Closing reminders go out again for the new time.

Cancel the sale

Choose Cancel sale, say why (your staff see this, bidders don't), and type the sale's title or CANCEL to confirm. Every lot not yet closed is withdrawn and its bids cancelled; nothing is charged for them. Everyone registered or watching gets one email.

If some lots already sold before you cancelled, their winners keep them and are invoiced as usual. A cancelled sale shows Cancelled on its pages and drops out of Catalot's listings. Cancelling can't be undone; to run the sale another day, duplicate it.
